When the time comes to help your beloved pet transition out of their life, we provide home euthanasia services. Euthanasia is a greek word that translates to “good death”. We provide both in clinic and at home euthanasia services. A home euthanasia allows your pet to spend their final moments in a place where they are comfortable, surrounded by people that they love and trust. Family and friends have the freedom to memorialize a life and share grief openly. We provide home euthanasia services as a conclusion of hospice care and also as a separate service where hospice care may not be appropriate or desired.
Because this can be one of the most difficult decisions of a lifetime, we offer pre-euthanasia assessments. This is an approximately 1 hour visit to discuss your concerns, examine your pet and observe them in their environment, and review medical records, if available. Sometimes an objective set of eyes can help you determine your pet’s true quality of life and make the euthanasia decision a little bit easier.
The euthanasia visit includes an in-home consultation, sedation, euthanasia procedure, grief and pet loss information and notification to your family veterinarian of your pet’s passing.
In-Home Euthanasia and Communal Cremation: Prices vary based on pet’s weight. In a communal cremation, your pet is cremated with a group of pets and the ashes are not returned.
In-Home Euthanasia and Separate Cremation: Prices vary based on weight of pet and urn selected. In a separate cremation, your pet is cremated separately and the ashes are returned to you in a tin or urn. Ashes are returned to you in 1-2 weeks.
