There are plenty of legitimate reasons why responsible, loving pet parents may find it difficult to bring their animal friends in for veterinary care. Maybe it’s because your pet is too sick to be safely transported. Or, maybe he or she suffers from veterinary visit anxiety, making trips to the clinic a stressful experience for everyone. Perhaps it’s that you have a multi-pet household and juggling so many different appointments is too much to keep up with.
Whatever the reason, Adorable Pets Veterinary Center is happy to oblige. In fact, house calls are our specialty! Through our home care service, we offer comprehensive care delivered right in the comfort and security of your home. If you can’t come to us for care, we’ll gladly bring that care right to you. There are many benefits associated with using a house call service for your pet’s health care needs.
Pets are sensitive creatures, and they can experience a whirlwind of feelings and emotions based on what’s happening in their lives at any given moment. For many animals, the process of being transported to the clinic can trigger everything from motion sickness to anxiety and even intense fear. The result is a stressful experience for you and your pet. It’s also a much more challenging task for your vet, since evaluating the health of an animal that is nervous and stressed can be difficult. Simply put, if your pet doesn’t handle vet visits well, it isn’t good for anyone.
When you choose Adorable Pets Veterinary Center’s house call service, you remove many of the negative aspects associated with traditional in-clinic veterinary care. As a result, your pet will be more comfortable and relaxed, because the unfamiliar sights, sounds and smells of the clinic won’t be a factor. Not only does this provide for a smooth appointment experience, but it also allows the animal to bond with Dr. Bernie on a deeper level, developing a sense of trust and making it much more productive to examine and treat them over time.
Our house call service is offered on a limited basis for an area that is a 15 mile radius from our clinic in Haddam. There is an additional charge for the house call that covers the transportation back and forth for Dr. Bernie and her technicians, the preparing and loading of equipment and medicines, and the preparation of the medical and billing records, and the medical waste that is incurred with all procedures.
House call services also provide an excellent option for multi-pet households, since all of your animals can be scheduled to be seen during the same block of time. No more juggling multiple appointments, or having to bring several animals in to the clinic at once. Instead, we’ll bring our services right to you, and all of your pets can receive the highest level of care available in one convenient appointment time.
Finally, house calls allow you to spend more quality, one-on-one time with the veterinarian. House call visits are typically 45 minutes to 1 hour in length. This extended time give you an excellent opportunity to ask questions, bring up any concerns you have about your companion, and discuss with the veterinarian the best ways to help your cherished friend enjoy as many happy, healthy years as possible.
